Field Trials, The Labrador
As A Gundog

The Labrador is an excellent retriever. Although the breed has been
bred for hunting purposes, it takes training to make a puppy develop into a
superb gundog.
The field trial committee aims at preserving the typical hunting
abilities high-quality and developping the standard of finnish labradors and
their handlers.
The committee arranges national and international
field trials, working tests, cold game tests and organizes training courses and
weekends. The
yearly main event is the Labrador Derby and Championship wich assembles the top
of the finnish labradors to compete with each other. Derby is for labradors
under two years of age and have not
competed before in Derby. Championship is open for all labradors.
